The Chill scored three goals in the final five minutes of the third period to erase a 1-0 deficit and pick up consecutive wins for the first time this season by knocking off Wichita for the second time this season.

Wichita (6-13-4) took an early lead on Jon Madden’s first goal of the season at the 12:19 mark of the first period and then the Thunder offense was shut down my Robby Moss.  After 42 stops on Wednesday, Moss stopped 32 on Friday, including three point-blank chances, and kept the Chill in the game until the offense got on track.

The Chill (6-12-4) was held to just 18 shots on goal for the night, and only THREE in the third period.  The Teddy Bear Toss seemingly set the Chill off.

Traditionally teddy bears are tossed on the ice after the home team’s first goal, but with time running out in the game the decision was made to toss the teddys at the first whistle with under 10 minutes left.  The players seemed to pick up steam after that.  Less than a minute after play resumed Nicklas Lindberg netted his first with St Charles when he blasted a one-timer past Thunder goalie David Brown to even the scoreboard at 1-1.  Strathman made a good decision after receiving the face-off from Jordan Fox and skated down the boards.  Fox went below the net and after take the pass from Strathman, fired a smooth pass to the left circle where Lindberg was waiting.  Less than two minutes after that, at the 16:33 mark, Ryan Berard skated down the right wing, and with Andrew Conboy crashing the net, slid a shot past Brown for his third goal.

Fox would add an empty net goal in the final minute to seal the win for the Chill.

Wichita and St. Charles square off again Saturday night at 7:05.  Pepsi Family 4-Packs are available the rest of December for just $60 in advance and include four platinum level tickets, four hotdogs, four pepsi, and four chips.  Fans can purchase these by calling the Chill front office.  For group ticket packages, sponsorships, and more information on the St. Charles Chill visit StCharlesChill.com or call (636) 724-SHOT (7468).
