The St. Louis Ambush professional indoor soccer club has announced two friendlies to be held later this month at the Family Arena in St. Charles.

On Thursday, January 9, the Ambush, a Major Indoor Soccer League team will host the Illinois Fire, a PASL Premier team based in Glen Carbon, IL. Kickoff is slated for 7:35 p.m. Ambush team owner Andrew Haines said, “This game will give fans of both the Ambush and the Fire an opportunity to see their team face an opponent from another league in a matchup they normally wouldn’t get to see.”

On Saturday, January 11, the Ambush will host a Lindenwood University Alumni team at 1:35 p.m. as part of Lindenwood Day at the Family Arena. Haines said the game exemplifies the Ambush’s commitment to community involvement. “Lindenwood is one of our partners and neighbors, being located just a few minutes from the Family Arena,” Haines said. “We are pleased to be able to hold an event like this that will benefit Lindenwood’s outstanding soccer program.” Carl Hutter, Lindenwood’s Men’s Soccer Head Coach said, “Our former Lindenwood University players look forward to playing the this friendly, community-minded soccer game. It will be a fun and good day for our neighbors and everyone involved. This will be a good opportunity for community involvement for our university.”

The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, will play regulation MISL games on January 3 and 4 at the Family Arena, followed by the friendlies on January 9 and 11, before finishing out the month with four road games in four different cities.
