Billikens to Face La Salle in A-10 Championship First Round

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis is the No. 10 seed and will face seventh-seeded La Salle in the opening round of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Thursday, March 6, at 4 p.m. (CT) at Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va.Saint Louis enters the tourney 12-17, which includes a 7-9 conference mark. The Billikens won seven of their last 11 league games after starting 0-5. SLU and La Salle (14-14, 9-7 A-10) squared off at Chaifetz Arena Feb. 1, with the Billikens prevailing 53-43.

The winner of the SLU/La Salle matchup advances to face No. 2 St. Bonaventure (22-9, 11-5 A-10) in the quarterfinals Friday, March 7, at 4 p.m. (CT).

The semifinal contests Saturday, March 8, begin at 10 a.m. (CT) and will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. The title game of the 2014 A-10 Championship – which determines the league’s automatic NCAA Tournament representative – will be played Sunday, March 9, and will be shown live on ESPNU at 10 a.m. (CT).
