The general manager of the River City Rascals is at it again… well, he is probably always at it… but here we go again. You might remember last season when they made it onto ESPN because we leaked out a photo of the new policy he implemented about fining players $5 if they gave baseballs to kids/fans… and they were forbidden to discuss the policy with fans so that the players looked like jerks instead of himself. Then lost over 8,000 likes on facebook because of the way he handled it. Of course, he was upset about this… and apparently still hasn’t gotten over it. Yesterday they posted a contest on Facebook asking fans to identify three current players on the team. A few minutes later, I responded with the answers, even tagging two of the players in it because I am friends with them on facebook:

Today they announced the winner… and it wasn’t me, but he did have the correct answers… but he answered today… and according to the contest it was the first to answer that wins. Here is a screen shot of that announcement. Zach made his comment just minutes after me… my answer is missing. Interesting….

No matter how much of a clown this guy is, we will still religiously cover the Rascals because their coaches and players are awesome guys who deserve the coverage.

I was a fan of the team well before he was here and will continue to be long after he is gone. He will go away before I do, guaranteed. It’s amazing that he is still the GM, but if you know the current owner, you would understand.

UPDATE:

Now that other people are calling him out, he is claiming that I am a prior employee and that makes me ineligible to win. This is a good attempt at covering it up… but it also false. I had already searched their facebook and website and found nothing about that. Plus if you are going to hold a contest, you have to have the rules in place already…. you can’t make them up as you go. It is a good rule, but it was not in place. Also, none of these players were on the team when I worked there, I know them from last year when I was just a fan. If this was all so innocent, he could have deleted my post…. and then contacted me and said hey we deleted your post but we want to be fair to our fans, you used to work here, blah blah blah. That’s not how it went down. Now the biggest part of this that hasn’t been mentioned yet… not only was my entry deleted, but I was BANNED from their facebook page. Banning you just prevents you from making comments and liking comments or photos… you can still like the page, you can still read all the posts, get updates, and share status’. You can see that I am banned from the below screenshot because there is no option for me to write a comment. Nice try guy.
