News broke earlier today that former Missouri Tiger wide out Dorial Green-Beckham would be transferring to the Oklahoma Sooners for the upcoming season. However, due to Green-Beckham’s dismissal from Missouri this past spring, he will be ineligible to play until the 2015 season.

Green-Beckham has had multiple encounters with the law throughout his collegiate career. Those charges include two marijuana related incidents as well as an accusation of forced entry and assault on an 18-year-old woman, though charges were never filed.

In his time at Missouri Green-Beckham recorded 87 catches for 1,278 yards and 17 touchdowns. Green-Beckham will join fellow Missouri native Durron Neal, who is currently listed on the Sooners depth chart as the third wide receiver. Neal played for De Smet Jesuit high school in St. Louis and was rated the second best wide receiver in Missouri behind Green-Beckham coming out of the 2012 recruiting class.

Despite all that has happened Green-Beckham could be eligible to play immediately if he is granted a waiver from the NCAA. Though, under the circumstances of his dismissal that seems highly unlikely. And once Green-Beckham sits out the 2014 campaign he automatically becomes eligible to declare for the 2015 NFL draft. In all likelihood there’s a real possibility he will never see another down of college football.
