After winning its first ever national title Sunday, the St. Louis Surge women’s semi-pro basketball team is ready to celebrate with its fan base and the public.
The 2014 Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) national champion will host its official “Power Down Season Finale” Friday night at Ramada Plaza Hotel in downtown St. Louis (811 North 9th Street). The event runs from 6 pm -10 pm.
Admission to the celebration is $10. Surge season ticket holders get in for free by displaying their season passes. The finale is for ages 21 and older only. Drink specials will be available.
Fans will be able to mingle with Surge players, coaches and management plus have the opportunity to purchase limited edition “National Champions” t-shirts and hats.
The Surge, who finished the championship campaign with a 14-1 record, won the WBCBL title after topping previously unbeaten Albany, 81-69, in the title game held Sunday in New Orleans.
