FC Adrenaline today announced that Ed Rulo has been retained as head coach ahead of the 2014-2015 Major Arena Soccer League season. Rulo has been the interim head coach for the club, formerly known as Illinois Piasa, since last January.

“Ed has shown tremendous leadership and character within this organization for a long period of time and we are delighted to have him continue to help this organization grow,” said Chris Trebing, General Manager. “We feel confident in his abilities to lead FC Adrenaline to long-term success in the metro area.”

Rulo led FC Adrenaline to a convincing 2-0 victory over the St. Louis Ambush this past Saturday in front of a crowd of 1,735 fans at Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. Almin Sabotic scored a first half brace as the MASL’s Pro #2 level Adrenaline scored a major upset over their first-division opponent.

“While we are very excited to partner with the St. Louis Ambush and exchange talent and training opportunities as needed, we are an independent franchise from them so we took it upon ourselves to perform well in the encounter,” said Jose Delgado, President of FC Adrenaline. “We think both clubs together and separately play a big role in providing high-quality soccer throughout the region.”

As part of the agreement between the two clubs, FC Adrenaline and the St. Louis Ambush will have the opportunity to exchange talent and training opportunities as needs arise for both teams to ensure that both clubs are primed to compete at the highest level while maintaining the independence to retain top talent and club identities.
