Brian Elliott recorded his 17th shutout as a Blue on Thursday, moving into second all-time on the team’s all-time shutout list.

Elliott passed Glenn Hall, who had 16 shutouts with the Blues.

Elliott made 18 saves in Thursday’s 1-0 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center. The shutout was the 26th of his NHL career.

“Ells has played great all year. He’s been outstanding the whole time,” Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said Thursday. “He looks like he wants the ball.”

This season, Elliott is 1-1-1 with a 1.30 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.

Only Jaroslav Halak (20) has more shutouts as a Blue than Elliott.
