The St. Louis RiverSharks have added to their already formidable frontcourt by signing Marcus Goode, a 6’10” forward/center from Chapin, South Carolina.

Goode was selected by the Erie BayHawks of the National Basketball Development League (NBA D-League) in the fall of 2014, but injured his hand after playing in only one game.

“Marcus is a big kid, a great kid, who’s got tremendous athleticism and soft hands,” said RiverSharks coach Al Grushkin.  “Once he works himself into game shape, he will be a force in this league.  We’re lucky to have him.”

Goode played collegiately first at Marshall University, where he averaged 4.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2008-09.  He then transferred to Division II Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.

After sitting out the 2009-10 season, Goode led all NCAA Division II players with an 11.8 per-game rebound average, and was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Player of the Year.

In 2011-12, Goode averaged 18.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game, and earned his second SIAC Player of the Year honor, along with being named a Boxtorow Division II All-American.  During his final year of eligibility, Goode again earned All-American honors, averaging 15.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

Benedict College won back-to-back SIAC Championships in 2012 and 2013 as Goode anchored the Tiger front line.
