Gregg Williams Foundation To Host Eleventh-Annual Tiger Golf Classic

Rams’ Defensive Coordinator, in conjunction with the Gregg Williams Foundation, will host the 11th-annual Tiger Golf Classic next week in Williams’ hometown of Excelsior Springs, Mo. Over the last 11 years, the Gregg Williams Foundation has raised more than $1 million to benefit young people in Excelsior Springs and the surrounding areas.

The three-day schedule kicks off with an NFL Play 60 event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wed., July 8 at Excelsior Springs High School.  Later Wednesday, Williams will emcee the Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony at ESHS.

The Tiger Classic Reception will be held on Thurs., July 9 at the Elms Hotel & Spa for those participating in the golf tournament, which will take place at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course onFri., July 10. The special week of events will conclude on Friday evening with a community reception and auction, which will also be held at the Elms Hotel & Spa.

Friday’s community reception is open to the public, and the live auction will include autographed memorabilia from the NFL, NHL, PGA, MLB and several country music stars. Fans will also have the opportunity to bid on a suite at the Edward Jones Dome for a Rams game as well as special Rams game day and training camp VIP experiences.

Williams will be available to the media at Thursday’s kickoff event, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Elms Hotel & Spa. He’ll also be available for interviews at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course at 7 a.m. Friday morning prior to the shotgun start as well as Friday afternoon after 1:30 p.m.

The Gregg Williams Foundation, Inc. was founded in December 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to fund programs for kids in the Excelsior Springs, Mo. area. The Foundation also donates funds to various community organizations to help improve the community as a whole.

Williams, the longtime NFL coach who is in his second season with the Rams, is a 1976 Excelsior Springs High School graduate who was a record-breaking Tiger athlete in football, basketball & baseball. He started his career as a teacher and a football, baseball and basketball coach in the Excelsior Springs School District in 1980.
