St. Louis-based Dynamo Pro Wrestling is set for a hard-hitting, high-flying night of action this Saturday featuring a Gateway City native who is a current Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH) star as well as a former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) tag-team champion.
Wrestler Matt Sydal, who competed in WWE as Evan Bourne, will be featured at DPW’s Saturday showcase at the Stratford Bar & Grill in Fenton (800 South Highway Drive). Bell time for the seven-match event is 8 p.m. A DPW Heavyweight Title and Tag Team Title match is also scheduled.
Sydal, who held the WWE Tag Team Championship with Kofi Kingston as “Air Boom” in 2011, will team with his younger brother Mike in a battle against Justin D’air and Mike Outlaw. A 14-year international wrestling veteran, Sydal has also competed with Total Nonstop Action (TNA), Dragon Gate, Wrestling Society X.
Sibling Mike won Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “Rookie of the Year” award in 2009 and has competed in Ring of Honor as well as other national wrestling organizations.
Their Saturday opponents, D’air and Outlaw, are rising stars in the independent wrestling scene and aims to match the Sydal brothers, move-for-move, in what should be a thrilling tag-team tilt.
Saturday’s card also contains a DPW Heavyweight Championship match between current kingpin, and two-time champ, “DirdEY” Jake Dirden versus nemesis Brandon Aarons as well as a DPW Tag Team Title kerfuffle between belt-holders the Black Hand Warriors (Michael Magnuson & Dave DeLorean) against High Level Enterprise (Jack Gamble & Jon Webb) where the Enterprise’s nefarious manager, Travis Cook, is barred from the Stratford.
International wrestling star, and former Ring of Honor champion, “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin will also make an appearance at the event to meet fans.
