Blues Invite Bickel to Training Camp

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has invited defenseman Stu Bickel to training camp on a professional tryout basis.

Bickel, 28, dressed in 43 regular season games with the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild last season, posting 11 points (three goals, eight assists) and 93 penalty minutes. In addition, the 6-foot-4, 207-pound defenseman appeared in nine regular season games with the Minnesota Wild in 2014-15, tallying one assist and 46 penalty minutes.

Overall, the Chanhassen, Minnesota native has played in 76 career NHL regular season games, including stints with New York Rangers and Minnesota, accumulating 10 assists and 203 penalty minutes.

Bickel has also made 18 career postseason appearances, serving 16 penalty minutes.

In addition, the Blues released Noah Bushnell, Macoy Erkamps, Gabriel Fontaine, Trent Fox, Mathieu Lemay, Liam Murray, Darren Raddysh and Carson Stadnyk, all of whom were on amateur tryouts at the Traverse City prospects tournament.
