by Press Release

The River City Raiders announced today that professional indoor football coaching veteran Pat Pimmel has been named as the team’s new defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Pimmel’s impressive resume over an ultra-successful twenty five plus year coaching career includes being the offensive coordinator of the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League. Pimmel may be best known however for serving as the head coach of the first year Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League, notable for being the first post-NFL team for wide receiver Terrell Owens.
“What an incredible feeling to be back home as the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the River City Raiders,” said an elated Pimmel. “I have coached professional indoor football at the highest level and have lots of great memories. As they say though, there’s no place like home.”

Pimmel, a St. Louis native, attended Hazelwood East High School and then the University of Missouri at Columbia. He has coached at various high schools in St. Louis as well as youth football teams. He is very involved in his community and stays involved in youth football to this day. He is married to his beautiful wife Stephanie and they have four children Josh, Danielle, Jessica, and Patrick.

“Pat and I go back many years when we were both head football coaches in the JFL here in St. Charles,” said team President and CEO Kenny Nowling. “I knew then that he was going to have an exceptional career as a football coach and his accomplishments over the past two decades are nothing short of amazing. The experience and leadership that he brings to the Raiders will be invaluable to our success as a franchise going forward.”

The Raiders, who will play all of their home games at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. just west of St. Louis, are proud members of the AIF, one of the country’s premier professional indoor football leagues.
