The Blues come back to beat the worn-out Columbus Blue Jackets. They are now 7-0-0 when tied after the second period.
Columbus came to town for their final meet-up with the Blues this season. They were up late Friday in an overtime battle with the Pittsburgh Penguins, while the Blues had two days off.
Towards the end of the first, Ryan Johansen put the Jackets (10-15-0) on the board with a goal. David Savard took a shot from the point that bounced off the boards in front of Jake Allen. Johansen slammed it in to give the Jackets a 1-0 lead.
Then the Blues woke up.
About two minutes into the second period, Vladimir Tarasenko tallied his 14th goal of the season. Alexander Steen, who is three points behind Tarasenko, got the assist. Tarasenko’s shot beat Sergei Bobrovsky top right.

Then the goalies came into play. The Blues took 33 shots while the Jackets took 25.
In the third, Scottie Upshall found a pass from David Backes. Upshall glided to across the point before ripping it bar-down to give the Blues a 2-1 lead. It was Upshall’s 4th goal of the season.
Allen stood on his head in the third.
Tarasenko lobbed the puck out of the zone to Steen, who scored a EN goal with 0:55 second left in the third.
This win kept the Blues (15-6-3) 2nd in the Central Division and 5th in the league.
