The Rockies could use pitching, and it’s been said that they tried to get Kevin Gausman from the Orioles. They could be interested in Marco Gonzales who went to high school in Fort Collins, CO. As a senior in high school, he was named the Colorado High School Baseball PLayer of the Year.

The Rockies selected Gonzales in the 29th round of the 2010 MLB Draft but did not make a significant offer and advised him to attend college, Gonzales opted not to sign and went to Gonzaga instead.

Marco’s father, Frank Gonzales, managed the Rockies’ Short-Season Class A club at Boise last year.
