Cardinals sign OF Carlos Peguero to Minor League deal

The Cardinals have signed outfielder Carlos Peguero to a minor league deal with an invite to ML Spring Training.

He is 28 years old. 6’5, 260 pounds. He hit 30 HR in ’14 at AAA in the Royals’ organization.  He has logged some time in the majors with Seattle, Kansas City, Texas, and Boston.

He has hit just .194/.263/.384 with 13 home runs across 319 big-league plate appearances, but owns a .273/.335/.511 batting lines over parts of ten minor-league seasons.

He makes the 62nd player invited to major league camp this spring.

Peguero is married to Pedro BorbĂłn’s youngest daughter, Maria Jacqueline BorbĂłn.
