Mizzou head coach Barry Odom announced during a National Signing Day news conference Wednesday that the suspension of DT Terry Beckner Jr. has been lifted. Beckner had been suspended indefinitely from team activities after his arrest for marijuana possession on the evening of January 20th.

Beckner is back working out with the team as he continues his rehabilitation from knee surgery. Beckner sustained injuries to both the ACL and MCL in his right knee in the Tigers win over BYU in November, and figures to miss a good chunk of spring practices as a result.

Other injury news included an update on S Tavon Ross, who continues to work his way back from surgery to repair a torn ACL last spring. DE Charles Harris is recovering from shoulder surgery and will reportedly be ready for the start of the season.

Another boost to the defensive line may come for the Mizzou Tigers in the form of Harold Brantley, who was injured and lost for the 2015 season after he was injured in a car wreck last fall. Odom appears optimistic in Brantley’s readiness for the season health-wise, but stated he has some work to do to gain academic eligibility. According to a tweet by David Morrison of the Columbia Daily Tribune, Odom said of Brantley, “he’s got a great future if he gets through this.”

Brantley is back working with the team, but has not yet been cleared for full participation. We’ll keep an eye on him as the spring progresses.
