OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Memphis Redbirds dropped a 7-1 decision to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (Triple-A Dodgers) Friday night in Oklahoma City to wrap up an eight-day road trip before returning to AutoZone Park in Memphis.
The Redbirds (7-7) were looking to win their first series of the season. Memphis has now split each of the season’s first four series. Oklahoma City improves to 8-7 with the win.
Memphis’ lone run came in the top of the fourth when Anthony Garcia doubled with two outs and Nick Martini brought him around on a single after a Jonathan Rodriguez walk. With Garcia’s double, Memphis now has an extra-base hit in all 14 games this season.
The Dodgers scored a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Mike Ohlman and Rodriguez had the other Redbird hits on the night.
Arturo Reyes took the loss after allowing seven earned runs and nine hits in 5.2 innings of work. Heath Wyatt and John Church worked the final 2.1 innings and gave up just one hit.
Memphis struck out 12 times in the game.
