The St. Louis Cardinals will begin injury rehabilitation assignments for catcher Brayan Peña and right-handed pitcher Seth Maness at their Double-A Springfield affiliate.
Peña, 34, began the season on the disabled list after suffering a left knee injury during Spring Training. His assignment will start tonight when Springfield hosts Arkansas.
Maness, 27, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation on May 13. He will begin his assignment on Wednesday night. Maness pitched 12.2 innings over 13 relief appearances with an 0-1 record and a 6.39 ERA before landing on the disabled list.
