Blues Control Destiny Tonight vs. Avs

ST. LOUIS – The Blues will have the chance to punch their ticket to the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs when they meet the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Pepsi Center (8pm CT, FS-MW, KMOX).

A win in any fashion or a point earned in overtime would send the Blues to their 6th straight playoff appearance and 41st overall in the franchise’s 50-year history.

St. Louis would also capture a playoff berth tonight with a Los Angeles Kings loss to the Vancouver Canucks in any fashion.

Things to Note:

Tonight the Blues will have the chance to increase their lead to three points over the Predators for third in the central division thanks to Nashville’s loss to the Maple Leafs last night. St. Louis and Nashville will face each other on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.

The Blues have won all three meetings so far this season against the Avalanche, and have outscored them 12-3 in those games.

Jake Allen has dominated Colorado of late. He is 4-0-0 with a 0.90 GAA and a .966 save percentage in his last four starts against the Avs, which includes a shutout. With one more win, Allen would become the first Blues goalie to surpass 30 wins in one season since Chris Osgood did so for the Blues in 2003-2004, and the 7th Blues goaltender to do so in franchise history.
