OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – The first-place Memphis Redbirds scored five runs in the first two innings and held on for a 10-8 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers (Dodgers) in the series finale Thursday night in Oklahoma City.

With the win, the Redbirds (62-35) extended their stretch of series wins or ties to 21-straight sets, dating back to losing three-of-four games at Colorado Springs from April 18-21. Entering the night, Memphis and Oklahoma City (52-45) had combined for 20 runs in the first three games of the series.

Entering the game mired in an 0-for-23 slump and a 7-for-74 stretch in his last 25 games, Wilfredo Tovar was 4-for-5 with a walk. Patrick Wisdom hit his 21st home run and Harrison Bader slugged his 19th, and Wisdom also doubled and drove in three runs in the game while Bader scored four runs and walked twice. The Redbirds drew nine walks as a team in the game, and all eight position player starters had at least one knock.

Luke Weaver got the call to start for the Redbirds, and he held the Dodgers to a lone run on four hits in 5.0 innings. The outing lowered his season ERA to 1.91.

After tossing 26.0-straight scoreless innings over seven-plus games, the Redbirds’ bullpen allowed seven runs Thursday night. After the tying run reached base with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth, Josh Lucas came on and got a strikeout and a double play to end the ballgame.

With another errorless game, the Redbirds have not committed a miscue in 77.0-straight innings over eight-plus games.

Memphis heads back to AutoZone Park for eight games against Las Vegas (Mets) and Salt Lake (Angels) running tomorrow through Friday the 28th.
