Local members to the squad are Scott Meyer (“Magnum P.I.M.P.”), Tony Correnti (“Percy Controll”), Brian McAfee (“Spin Diesel”), Jake Woodward (“Bled Zepplin’”), Phillip Stout “The Doc” and Shane Bower.

The international tournament will be held April 5-8, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. USA Men’s Roller Derby is the two-time defending champion of the global event with victories in 2014 and 2016.

Meyer and Correnti will each make their third appearance at the Men’s Roller Derby Cup while McAfee and Woodward return for a second tour of duty with the domestics. Stout and Bower’s trip next April will be their respective first.

The six GateKeepers are set to compete with their St. Louis-based brothers at the Men’s Roller Derby Association (MRDA) International Championships that will be held in Cwmbran, South Wales (UK) in October. GKRD, the event’s top seed, seeks their third straight title at the multi-day tourney.

GKRD hosts a two-game exhibition “Super Derby Bros. 4” at Midwest Sport Hockey in Ballwin this Saturday at 6:30 pm and  renews their three-team local “Turf Wars” campaign at Queeny Park this December. For more information on the league, go to their official website.
