Mike Maddux To Be Named Cardinals’ Pitching Coach

I was joking the other day when I posted this photo:

My money was on him becoming the next manager for the Nationals. I also figured the Cardinals would lose out on Jim Hickey to the Cubs and that the Cardinals would probably go with internal options in Eversgerd or Simontacchi.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Cardinals are about to announce the hiring of Mike Maddux.

Jenifer Langosch comfirmed it minutes later and the club is expected to make official announcement later today.

Maddux has spent the past two seasons with the Washington Nationals with Dusty Baker.
