Justice League Is Better Than The Injustice It’s Receiving

by Mick Lite

Just got home from seeing Justice League with my son. I enjoyed it! He enjoyed it! We talked about it all the way home and I am sure we will more tomorrow, like we usually do. Superheroes is our big thing together.

Don’t listen to critics, spoiled tomatoes, or any chest pounding movie reviewers who aren’t nerdy enough to appreciate these kind of movies anyways, go see it for yourself.

Could it be better? Sure. Most movies could be.

Was it better than better than Batman vs Superman…. and I wasn’t mad about that movie…. but….. YES.

Most people bad mouthing it do nothing but compare it to Marvel movies or complain about the music…. but they used music from the 1989 Batman and 1978 Superman, which I personally thought was pretty awesome.

There were cameos and a bunch twists that probably get explained and sorted out later. Kind of reverse-Marvel where instead of all the origin stories then team-ups, they come together first and then will come the other stories like the upcoming Aquaman solo film… Flash doing Flashpoint… a personal favorite story.

My only disappointment was I wish they didn’t have to trim it down to 2 hours, I think there was more they could have told or got into and I was more than willing to sit there for another hour. lol

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!

Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) continues right where she left off, being a badass. Her and Bruce get into it but leads to her knowing she needs to play more of a leadership role and stepping out more as a hero.

Batman is still a little off… “I don’t not” like Affleck as Batman, see what I did there? I just am not sure where they are going with him yet. There can’t be a Justice League without Batman. He just seems to be coming to an end of his career after 20 years and taking the physical abuse of it all. They need his tactical genius… ala bringing out the “big guns” for Superman…. Lois.

Superman is back! We all knew he would be, also can’t have a Justice League without him. I love Cavill, perfect casting. They said this would be the Superman we all know, after him coming back. I think we will see this better version of him carry forward.

Cyborg is still getting to know his abilities that keep evolving and getting better.  I liked his portrayal and opening up.

Jason Momoa makes Aquaman a badass. Very much looking forward to his movie, just got a small glimpse of his life in Atlantis and talk about being exiled and the relationship with his mother, and got a little cameo by Mera.

The Flash, my personal favorite character. Ezra Miller is the perfect bit of quirky, awkward, and funny. There were a couple scenes of him visiting his father in prison, hinting towards the Flashpoint movie. He and Jason Momoa were the big bright spots in this movie in my opinion.

I went into the movie with a checklist of sorts that I hoped to see or be hinted at…

A Flash vs Superman race of some sorts or how they can keep up with each other.

Check… check… check again lol. Hands down, my absolutely favorite scene was right after Superman is brought back to life when they all fight each other. That blank staring god like Superman sends a bit of chills down your sping. As Superman is holding off Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg… Flash comes zipping in and everything slows down for him and you just know this isn’t going to be easy and then all of a sudden Superman looks over at him in his time….. goosebumps! That wide-eyed oh crap look that the Flash has a number of times in the movie was absolutely perfect here.

Then later in Russia, Flash is running out East… or was it West… to save some civilians and Superman flies up next to him and calls him a slowpoke! There’s that little bit of humor that has been missing. Not over the top, just enough. I read somewhere last week that the Superman that comes back is the Superman we all know and love. It definitely felt that way.

Third time was in a post-credits scene where they lined up on a dirt road for an actual race… we of course don’t get to know the answer to that debate here. We all know The Flash would win though. 🙂

Green Lantern?

Everybody wondering about that scene with Alfred, “He said you would come.” Was it a Green Lantern? Was it Superman? Well I don’t remember actually even seeing that scene…. in fact, I don’t remember seeing the scene of Bruce looking at the Superman hologram either. Anyways, no, we were not introduced to a Green Lantern at end of the movie or in a post-credit scene. Though they did say “room for more” in the new Hall of Justice, we know he will be here. BUT we did get to see some Green Lanterns fighting in a flashback of the Earth fighting off Steppenwolf in a previous attempt at him destroying our planet. Saw one use a construct, then another was killed by Steppenwolf and his power ring came off and Steppenwolf watched if float up into the sky.

Will we see Lex Luthor?

This has been a much talked about topic prior to the movie. I think the last thing I saw was the filmed scenes were cut from the movie and we wouldn’t see him. Well 2nd post-credits scene we learn that he has escaped Arkham Asylum and is chilling on a yacht somewhere. We see somebody board his yacht who turns out to be Deathstroke! Everybody has been excited about him coming in the next Batman movie and Joe Manganiello playing the part. Lex says something like it’s only fair we have a “league of our own”…. Injustice League!

Black Suit

Henry Cavill had posted a photo of part of the black suit on Instagram and people saw him on set in the black suit… maybe that was cut out or will be used later if Darkseid makes a clone of Superman or something.

Cyborg needs to say Booyah.

At least once, please. Just do it. It would sound so good with his deep voice. My son and I both said YES! when it happened.

#Booyah!

Have you seen it yet? Let us know what you thought in the comments!
