Over ten years ago we were given a film entitled Cloverfield by visionary mastermind J.J. Abrams; the film was both a financial and critical success. The film’s production itself was highly secretive with sets blocked off to the public (obviously) and even some of the production staff and cast; even the actors did not know exactly which scene they were going to film or what was even going to happen until that very day (and sometimes even later than that in order to get authentic reactions from the cast).
Released in 2016 with John Goodman heading the cast, 10 Cloverfield Lane was deemed a “spiritual successor” to the first film and set in the same universe. While many of us were saddened that we were not going to see what the after effects of the first film would be, we were still slightly happy with the way the sequel turned out.
Now, just recently announced, the untitled Cloverfield 3 film is well on its way to hit the big screen, yet is still (no surprise) shrouded in immense secrecy. We do know that Danial Bruhl (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Lone Survivor) will head the cast and that the primary setting of the film will be on a space station in the “very near future”.
Codenamed “Cloverfield Station” for the moment, the film to slated to hit theaters April 20th, 2018.
