THE BASICS
• Saint Louis split on the final day of the Rock Chalk Challenge Sunday, defeating Murray State 7-3 in dramatic fashion and falling 8-0 to Northern Colorado.
• The Billikens finished their regular-season tournament schedule with a 13-11 record.
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Allie Macfarlane staked Saint Louis to a 1-0 lead with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the first inning.
• The Billikens made it 2-0 in the fourth on a two-out RBI single by Kaylyn Breitbach.
• After Murray State scored three runs in the top of the fifth, SLU tied it in its half of the inning on a two-out solo home run by Sadie Wise, her eighth homer of the season.
• The game remained deadlocked until the bottom of the seventh. The Billikens loaded the bases on a walk to pinch hitter Kylie Hess, a single by Kat Lane and an intentional walk to Wise. Macfarlane then delivered her fifth career grand slam, and third home run of the season, to win it for Saint Louis.
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Wise tied Macfarlane’s Saint Louis single-season record for home runs by a freshman.
• Macfarlane’s five RBIs matched her career high.
• Maddie Baalman (8-6) picked up the win in relief. Baalman tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit while striking out five.
• Wise and Lane tallied two hits apiece.
• Alyssa Tarquinio recorded a single.
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
Northern Colorado scored one run in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
Breitbach registered the Billikens’ only hit, a sixth-inning infield single.

Saint Louis plays its home opener Tuesday, March 20, against Murray State. First pitch at the Billiken Sports Center is scheduled for 4 p.m.
