Four Saint Louis softball student-athletes earned Atlantic 10 Conference postseason honors, the league office announced Tuesday.

Right fielder Sadie Wise became the first Billiken freshman to be selected to the A-10 All-Conference first team. Senior third baseman Allie Macfarlane earned second-team plaudits for a second time in her career.

Freshman center fielder Kat Lane and freshman catcher Alyssa Chavez joined Wise on the All-Rookie team, giving Saint Louis three All-Rookie choices for the first time in program history. Macfarlane garnered a spot on the All-Academic team for a second consecutive season.

Wise, who earlier this year was named a top-25 finalist for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Freshman of the Year Award, leads the A-10 with a SLU-record 16 home runs. She is second in the conference with 119 total bases, also a Billiken record.

Wise is tied for second in the A-10 with 59 hits, a Saint Louis freshman record, and extra-base hits (28). She ranks third in the league in RBIs (47, just three away from the school record), slugging percentage (.739, higher than the school record of .715) and on-base percentage (.458, higher than the SLU freshman mark of .438).

A four-time A-10 Rookie of the Week, Wise also is fourth in the conference in runs (39, SLU freshman record), tied for fourth in walks (26), sixth in batting average (.366, SLU freshman record is .369) and tied for 10th in doubles (12).

Macfarlane also ranks among the conference leaders in several categories. She is second in assists (career-high 118), tied for third in doubles (team-high and career-high 14), seventh in total bases (83), eighth in RBIs (37) and extra-base hits (20), tied for eighth in hits (53), 12th in walks (19) and 15th in slugging percentage (.509). Macfarlane’s .443 batting average vs. conference opponents ranked second in the A-10.

Macfarlane leads the Billikens in batting average with runners in scoring position (26-for-61, .426). She is second on the team in batting average (.325), slugging percentage, on-base percentage (.400), hits, RBIs, two-out RBIs (13), batting average with two outs (.364), multiple-RBI games (five), total bases, walks and assists. Macfarlane is tied for second on the team in multiple-hit games (16).

Lane is fifth in stolen bases (team-high 15), tied for seventh in runs (36) and 11th in hits (52) in the A-10 rankings. She leads the Billikens with 17 multiple-hit games, is second in runs and stands third in batting average (.311) and hits. In conference games, Lane finished second on the team with a .354 batting average.

Lane was one of SLU’s hottest hitters down the stretch, batting .394 over the last 10 games. She also excelled defensively, recording eight outfield assists.

Chavez finished the regular season second on the team and tied for ninth in the A-10 with seven home runs. She is just one home run shy of tying the Saint Louis record for freshmen.

Chavez ranks third on the team in slugging percentage (.477), RBIs (21), two-out RBIs (12) and total bases (63). She produced a team-best 20-game streak of reaching base by hit or walk; the streak included at least one hit in 17 games.
