Margenthaler Promoted to Associate Head Coach

by SLU WBB

Saint Louis University head women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone has announced the promotion of Ty Margenthaler to associate head coach. Margenthaler served the Billikens as an assistant coach the past two seasons.

“It is my pleasure to promote Ty Margenthaler to associate head coach,” Stone said. “Ty is in his eighth year as a member of my staff, first at Wisconsin and now at Saint Louis. He is an outstanding recruiter, teacher and game coach who will now be my right-hand man. Ty understands the game and is very familiar with how I operate.

“I look forward to many more years of working with Ty to build great things for Saint Louis University women’s basketball.”

“I want to thank our director of athletics, Chris May, and coach Stone for this opportunity,” Margenthaler said. “I greatly appreciate the confidence they have in me to continue to be a part of this special program. I am proud of what our student-athletes and staff have accomplished and excited about what the future holds for Billiken women’s basketball.”

In addition to his time at Wisconsin, Margenthaler’s experience includes four seasons as head coach at Southeast Missouri State and stints at Samford, Bradley and SIUE as an assistant coach.

Margenthaler holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education/kinesiology from SIUE. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of sons Brice and Nate.
